Do It Yourself - Over-clocking your Graphic Cards

[Important: This DIY should not be performed with low end GPU’s which do not support over-clocking as it may damage your Card and some time your whole system. Also Over clocking is not for day to day activities like web surfing and for HTPC systems. Remember that fiddling with your system and over-clocking will void your warranty. So use this DIY at your own risk.]

Did you ever felt like you needed that extra power from your Graphic Card to run your latest and favorite game smoothly? Are you one of those power users who want to have the fastest system in the world (really!)? Or are you one of those benchmark enthusiasts? Then look no further than this article as it provides everything that you need to over-clock your graphic card.

Do It Yourself - Bootable Linux Flashdrive

In my earlier post I had posted an article on "Bootable Windows 7 Flashdrive". This time I will give an idea on how to make a persistent(i.e. all your data including desktop settings will remain intact) Linux flash drive. Booting from Linux is great but its better if you can carry your whole Operating System with you. This insures that you are always secure from malicious objects and also add that little personal touch wherever you go.

Do It Yourself - Bootable Windows 7 Flashdrive

Want to format your PC and then you remember that you have lost your Windows 7 disk or you find out that it’s all scratched and does not work at all. What will you do then? Buy another disk or get it from your friend? Why not make a Win7 bootable flash drive for the times just like these. Overheating – The Summertime Headache

Many of us may have heard about overheating, even if not, many of us face problem of excessive heating of computer parts mainly in summer (I am one who used to live with PC that used to overheat frequently). Those who get their motherboard and PSU fried are probably the victim of overheating. For those who are new to computer technology, overheating is simply excessive heating of computer parts which sometime results in malfunctioning of those parts. Overheating is mostly prone to parts like processors, graphic cards, hard disks and power supply unit.

Open Source or Proprietary: Choice remains with User

Recently, I have seen many forums and blogs full with debates about FOSS and proprietary software (especially Microsoft). And some time it has even been personal accusations from both side rather than presenting the facts. It is being taken as war by some. I am neither a FOSS’s preacher nor a Microsoft’s evangelist but for me, both are equally important. Particularly talking, I have used many Windows OSes and many Linux distros and I have found that all OSes have some strong points as well as weak points. Even now I use Windows XP and Linux Mint 7.

CAN Infotech: Contribution to ICT in Nepal

Well, it's been a long time since I've not written in my blog. As I had my exams and constant loadsheding had topped it, I could not do anything but wait. And now I'm back with new post which is about the ongoing CAN Infotech 2010 and it's contribution in the field of ICT in Nepal. For me CAN Infotech is not just an annual event, but also a foundation stone which led me to the path of Information Technology.

Well, as must of you know that CAN Infotech is the biggest IT event and exibition held in Nepal. Now in its 16th year, it has gained much popularity and also has roused interest in people about ICT. It is undoubtedly one of the the pillar of Nepal's ICT field. 16 years ago when it had just started, technology was a thing of rich and famous. Very few had chance to fiddle with those bulky computers. 16 years back now, it is not surprizing to see people using mobile phones and using internet on the go.
